Modern Fire Pits FAQ – How do you turn it on?

Paloform’s line of modern fire pits are self-contained units. All the working parts and connections are hidden inside the concrete vessels. This means if you plumb in a gas or propane line from underneath, there are no exposed hoses or valve parts.

Our fire pits are manually lit using a key which is inserted into a hole in the side of the vessel. The key engages with a ball valve inside the fire pit to turn the gas on and off. Lighting is a simple matter of applying a flame to the center of the burner using a standard barbecue lighter or long match, then turning the key to the ‘on’ position. We prefer the simplicity of a manual valve, which ensures that there is very little to go wrong with the fire pit and that it will function reliably for years to come.
