If you have a match-lit burner, ensure the pilot light is extinguished and the ignition key turned to the full ‘off’ position before placing your table top. If you have an electronic burner, make sure that the fire pit is “locked out," so accidental ignition is not possible when the table top is in place. You can lock out a fire pit by turning the power to the unit at the breaker or turning off the gas supply at the main gas valve.

For the main outdoor area, the landscape designers challenged us to create the largest fire pit we’ve made to date, a twenty-four-foot linear table with a full twenty-two feet of flame. This spectacular outdoor fire is made of powder-coated steel in graphite color with an integrated tempered glass screen.

The CE certification process for fire pits is a “Type Examination” and is governed by the European Gas Appliance Directive 2009/142/EC. This means that our modern fire pits were laboratory tested by a Notified Body (an organization that has been accredited by a Member State) to meet the standard for gas appliances of their type. For Europe, our fire pits have been tested and approved for use with natural gas types G20 and G25, and propane type G31 at 37 and 50 mbar.

- [New Fire Pits for Spring at IDS 12](https://paloform.com/news/new-fire-pits-for-spring-at-ids-12/): Last week, Paloform loaded up the truck and set up at Toronto’s Interior Design Show, truly one of the premier contemporary design expos in North America. We displayed some of our modern fireplace tiles and surround products, as well as our complete line of outdoor fire pits. Among them, are the newest additions to the collection: two models in Corten steel – Bol, a 42″ shallow fire bowl, and Caldera, a sculptural geometric basin; as well as our new linear outdoor fire, Robata, shown in its six-foot version.
