Material Care
Powder Coat FinishesPaloform fire pits with powder coat finishes should regularly be cleaned to keep them free of debris and substances that may cause corrosion to the painted surface.
- Use only clean water with slight additives of neutral washing agents (pH 5-8) with the aid of non-abrasive soft cloths, rags, or industrial cotton. Strong rubbing is to be avoided.
- Pure Isopropyl Alcohol can be used to remove oil or grease that cannot be removed using a neutral cleanser but should be rinsed immediately.
- Never use any type of solvent or substances containing ester, ketones, alcohol, aromatics, ethylene glycol, or halogenated hydrocarbon.
- Always test the washing agent on an unseen portion of the surface before proceeding with visible surfaces.
- Do not use scratching or abrasive agents.
- Do not use strong acids, alkaline detergents, or solvents.
- Do not use steam-jet or pressure washing devices.
- Do not use water in excess of 77 °F (25 °C).
- Rinsing with clean cold water should take place immediately after every cleaning process.
- Chips or scratches through to metal should be thoroughly cleaned right away to remove any rust or debris, dried thoroughly, and touched up immediately with appropriate paint. You may contact us for touch-up paint.
