How to Light a Paloform Fire Pit
Electronic IgnitionPaloform fire pits with electronic burners are controlled by the power supply. When the power is turned on, the fire pit ignites; when it is turned off, it turns off. Thus, for the fire pit to remain lit, the power must be turned on.
CAUTION: Before lighting your fire pit, smell all around the unit. If you smell gas, do not attempt to light the fire pit. Wait for a minimum of five minutes. If the gas smell persists, contact a gas technician to troubleshoot. If possible, turn the gas off at the source.
Your fire pit will be connected to a line voltage power outlet inside the fire pit vessel. Whichever method you choose to control the power to that outlet will be the way the fire pit is turned on and off. These methods can include, but are not limited to:
- Standard wall switch
- Plug-in remote control unit, controlled by a wireless handheld remote control
- Timer device
- Home control or “smart system”
- Breaker
When the power is turned on, the ignition sequence will initiate, and:
- You will hear a rapid clicking sound of the spark igniter, which will light the pilot.
- Once the pilot is lit, you will hear a more distinctive click as the main burner opens. At this point, the fire pit should ignite.
- Turning off the power will immediately close the main valve and extinguish the fire pit, though it may take several seconds before the flame is completely out.
